MEET THE FOUNDER.

The Luggage Cover That Started It All.

Hi, I’m Tiffany, founder of The Lit Traveler.

I didn’t start this brand because the world needed one more travel accessory. I started it because I spent four and a half weeks in Europe without my suitcase. Yes, you read that right. Four and a half weeks.

The Trip I’ll Never Forget

On my way to Italy, my checked luggage got lost at London Heathrow during a major baggage-handling disruption. I spent two and a half weeks in Italy and another two weeks in Germany, all without the suitcase I’d packed for the trip.

My clothes were in there. My shoes were in there. Even spare medication and medical supplies were in there. I had to buy what I needed along the way and put together a makeshift wardrobe while calling the airport day after day, hoping somebody had found my bag.

And how did I describe this missing suitcase? As a large blue suitcase with a ball of yarn attached to it.

Because surely that would narrow it down, right?

Not when you’re dealing with what felt like miles of misplaced luggage and more large blue suitcases than I ever wanted to see again.

The Baggage Claim Anxiety Was Real

Even after that trip, the experience stayed with me. I traveled frequently for work, and every time I stood at baggage claim, I caught myself scanning the carousel and checking tags.

Is that mine? Wait, is THAT mine? Did somebody accidentally take my bag?

I was tired of second-guessing every suitcase that rolled past. I wanted one I could recognize without having to play detective.

So I Gave My Suitcase a New Outfit

I designed a luggage cover that was undeniably mine. It featured a Lit Doll-style illustration of a woman who looked like me, with my hair, my jewelry, and even my favorite airport drink: a Starbucks Pink Drink.

There was absolutely no mistaking that suitcase for somebody else’s.

And something unexpected happened. People began stopping me in airports to ask where I got my cover. They loved it. They wanted one of their own. More than once, I heard some version of, “If you sold those, I’d buy one.”

That was the spark behind The Lit Traveler.

From My Suitcase to Yours

What began as a way to make my own bag easier to recognize grew into a brand that lets travelers express their personalities through their luggage.

I believe your suitcase can be practical and stylish. It can hold all your carefully planned outfits and show up with a little personality of its own.

After all, if you’re putting that much thought into what you’re wearing on vacation, shouldn’t your suitcase get dressed, too?

Thank you for being here and becoming part of The Lit Traveler story.
